The 2009 Pierre Fournier Award Recipient

Gabriel Schwabe

The 2009 Pierre Fournier Award has been awarded to 21-year-old cellist, Gabriel Schwabe. He is currently studying with Frans Helmerson at the Kronberg Academy Masters, having completed his studies at the University of the Arts in Berlin (2000 – 2008).

For the first time this year, the Pierre Fournier Award was open to applicants worldwide, and German cellist Gabriel was one of just five international cellists selected to play in the final round of auditions at the Wigmore Hall, London in June 2009.
