The next auditions for the Pierre Fournier Award will be held on the 17, 18 and 19 May 2011, at the Wigmore Hall, London.
The Pierre Fournier Award Prize
The recipient of the Pierre Fournier Award will receive a recital in London's Wigmore Hall, a professional CD recording of that recital, as well as other significant orchestral and chamber music performances with affiliated organisations such as the Philharmonia Orchestra, the English Chamber Orchestra and Oxford May Music.
How to apply for the 2011 auditions
The following guidelines should assist in preparing your application
The applicant should be no older than 28 on 1 January 2011.
By way of application, please send an updated CV, a recording of a recent performance, ideally reflecting a variety of musical styles and a suggested full recital programme (approx. 70 – 90 minutes) that the applicant will be prepared to play at the audition.
The panel will choose excerpts to be performed in the first round and those selected for the second round will perform a 45-minute programme, to be agreed with the panel (selected from their full suggested programme).
Cellists are asked to bring with them a collaborative pianist with whom they feel confident they could perform a successful recital programme in the Wigmore Hall, demonstrating a mature and developed partnership.
Repertoire is at the discretion of the applicant and should reflect their passions and strong musical convictions.
