
They will perform in front of a distinguished panel comprising:
Ralph Kirshbaum, founder of the Pierre Fournier Award,
cellists Colin Carr, Karine Georgian, Alice Neary, Raphael Wallfisch and Moray Welsh, and Jonathan Groves, a director of the artist management agency Ingpen & Williams.
The recipient of the Pierre Fournier Award will receive a recital in London's Wigmore Hall, a professional CD recording of this recital, as well as other significant orchestral and chamber music performances with affiliated organisations such as the Philharmonia Orchestra, the English Chamber Orchestra and Oxford May Music.
The Pierre Fournier Award 2009 auditions will be held at Wigmore Hall, London on 2, 3 and 5 June 2009.
First round
Tuesday 2 June from 9.30am to 2.00pm
or Wednesday 3 June from 9.30am to 2.00pm
Final round
Friday 5 June from 1.00pm to 5.00pm
Candidates will be asked to attend at one of the first round dates.
A number of applicants from the first round will be invited to participate in the final round of auditions on Friday 5 June, from which the 2009 recipient of the Pierre Fournier Award will be announced.
Applicants must be able to attend all stages of the awards at Wigmore Hall, London, on these dates and at these times.
